Technical Writer

Role Description

At 3forge, we are developing the next generation of hybrid application development platforms. Our platform allows developers to quickly build customized business critical web solutions with a focus on workflows, real-time visualizations and data discovery without limitations. As a 3forge Technical Writer, you will be in charge of all of our technical documentation, release notes, manuals, on-line documentation and video clips.

Responsibilities

  • Write new documentation explaining 3forge's product
  • Review all existing 3forge product technical documentation, identify gaps, deficiencies, etc.
  • Recommend the best approach and improvements to documentation format and presentation.
  • Re-organize/ Rewrite/ Reformat technical documentation as required to produce professional technical documentation to be used by our clients.
  • Maintain and produce on-going updates of documentation as new product features are added or changed.
  • Produce release notes and documentation for 3forge product releases
  • Self-motivated to accomplish tasks and projects
  • Working with a global team across regions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or other related disciplines.
  • 1+ years of proven experience in writing professional and technical documentation
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Markdown, video recording, and video editing
  • Proficient with SQL and databases systems
  • Experienced with Java and worked with other languages such as JavaScript, Python, C++, Go, etc.
  • Proficient with UNIX operating system and shell: writing scripts, vi editor, permissions, etc.
  • Strong research, analytical and communication skills: Can effectively understand, discuss and explain complex technical concepts.
  • Experienced working in a team environment
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines
